Kilimanjaro Treks

Mt Kilimanjaro is known to be the highest mountain in Africa. You will be fascinated by the snowcapped mountain peaks of Kilimanjaro. Thousands of tourists visit the Kilimanjaro every year just to have an experience of Kilimanjaro treks. Kilimanjaro treks is always a highly popular holiday activity in Tanzania.

The Kilimanjaro treks begin with a climb to Mandara Hut. You will be entering the rain forest as you go on climbing. It will take 3 hours to reach the first hut but the climbing experience will surely be memorable as you will enjoy the scenic view of the surroundings as you move on. Get into the company of the colobus monkeys and birds in the rain forest. The second day of the Kilimanjaro treks begins with an aim to reach th Horombo Hut. You have to climb ten miles and it will take about six or seven hours. Now, you will be in the midst of alpine meadow instead of being in the rain forest. This phase of the trekking is very soothing and the view of the peaks above and plains below the mountains is truly mesmerizing. Explore the local vegetation! The vegetation in the Kilimanjaro is quite unique and you will find senecios and giant lobelias over there. As you climb higher, the vegetation gets thinner and thinner. Those who suffer from breathing problems might face a health problem at this stage of Kilimanjaro treks because of high altitude.

The Kilimanjaro treks continues with a visit to the Kibo Hut which lies right at the foot of Kibo Peak. This climb will also take 6 hours to complete. On the 5th day of the Kilimanjaro treks, the trekkers try to reach the summit. This part of the trekking is surely a matter of stiff climbing to the Gillman's Point. The adventurous trekkers try to reach the Uhuru Peak and most of them return to the Horombo Hut on the same day.

In a nutshell, Kilimanjaro treks form a core part of Tanzania wild safari.
