Over the decades Rwanda has been visited by millions of tourists, who come to witness its national parks and various exotic locations. The Volcanoes National Park is one of the most popular national parks in Rwanda. Volcanoes National Park is well renowned for having numerous mountain gorillas as well as other animals. In Volcanoes National Park, you will get to see five volcanoes of the Virunga Mountains, namely- Muhabura, Sabyinyo, Bisoke, Karisimbi and Gahinga. The Volcanoes National Park boasts of being the first national park in the whole African continent. You will get to see different varieties of ecosystems in this national park, like- dense forests, bamboo forest, meadows, swamps and even small sized lakes.
In the recent times, the number of visitors coming to Volcanoes National Park has increased considerably. Numerous activities are arranged in Volcanoes National Park for the tourists by ORTPN, which is the tourist board of Rwanda. You can have the experience of one of the most adventurous expeditions in the Volcanoes National Park. Gorilla visits are organized here. You will get to see four habituated groups of mountain gorillas. The visitors are allowed to stay for an hour in the midst of the gorillas. The authorities of the national park allows only 32 visitors each day to see the gorillas.
Volcanoes National Park also comes with numerous other activities as well. Several tours are organized to view the golden monkeys. The tours to the serene lakes would give you the perfect place to relax and witness the beauty of the nature. Often you will get to see trekking tours to the Karisimbi volcano as well as the Bisoke Volcano.
